“Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.” ~ Matthew 5:16.
When I look into the vast expanse of time and stars like chandeliers, it is a marvel that we should exist beneath such infinite brilliance. The heavens shine and glow beyond the ages, a living light written in our hearts. How have we come this far to still wander in the lands of wretchedness and unbelief?
The celestial firmament beams of mysteries and secrets of the universe. The hand of God preciously wove the stars in a symphony, signatures of time traversing the endless fabric of eternity. Their light tells us of worlds beyond our own, beauty found in the velvet dream. We have been given the breath of creation, good gifts to bring forth His goodness and glory. Inside of us, there is only darkness reverberating. How we tremble at the revelation, how existence groans when she falls beneath her destiny.
The years of a soul grow old too soon. When the light is drawn from desperate eyes, we wish we had one more moment in time. A moment to forgive, a moment to love. Can we borrow from the ancient stars, and can we embrace letting go? We come to an end and fall into stardust, wrapped in comfort and streams of light. The old world is no more. The new has come.
