Sky Blue Avenue

I woke into a dream

Of lovers dancing high

We crossed into eternity

And found the pristine sky

All I saw was deepest blue

Shades infinite

So wild and true

Fragility broke me

Like a spell after midnight

I remembered the morning after

But forgot the heavenly light

It was a wild tale

For anyone who believed it

It was my deepest dream

And I lost it

We sailed into nothingness

Upon the ethereal shore

We fell into loneliness

Without living much more

I flew alone

The lost bird in the sky

The winds carried me home

Before I could die

I walked the lonesome avenue

Many days and many nights

I thought I’d found you

But you were only a lie

They took you away

Into summer’s blue

Alas I woke from my endless dream

On sky blue avenue
