A Dream I Once Had

Time and waves
This stilled heart, embraced
Upon the deep ocean, my voyage drew the light of stars

Every day was eternal
I rested in fortresses of sand, wind, and wave
They carried and filled
All the broken cracks in me

I wondered in quiet towns that lay in dreams
Waiting to wake up
They were like me
As we shimmered across the unending sea

I touched your hand
And felt my being lessen
This perfect world
Was coming to an end

We reached the edge of all we knew
And I saw beyond the sweetness of water
The line that drew us to the uttermost
Carried us into remembrance

Days upon days,
Years upon years
The light of dawn finally began to break
Upon a dream I once had.
