There was something about the way the trees moved, the way the land stood still. Silent and majestic, I knew that God was Lord over all. A startling connection, a liberation. No words and nothing too different, and yet, everything could change all of a sudden. Life moves so fast and a week from today, we could be in a different life.

To give everything up and live in a parallel universe is a fantasy. This city girl would not mind living in the wild, perhaps for a little while, or longer. A tourist trap, a small town, a quiet biding of time as one figures out life as it fleets between those breathless trees and emerald waters.

There is no other place as such that had captured my heart in an instant. Drawn in by the changeless waters that spoke of secrets since the beginning of the world, taken by the crisp, fresh air so refreshing to my dusty being…something about the way the land was.

I long for my next return to seek out these feelings I have come to know, these desires birthed on that sacred day. Something so beautiful, something so special, something I have never known before. A life, I could wish for.

How idyllic, idealistic to live among the forests and mountains, the perfect blue of sky and water coming together in holiest matrimony. It is a peace unknown to civilization, a regard for all Nature great and small. This respect is found in the wind, in the birds that carry our souls to us. We are free if we live as they do. Our minds no longer need to be broken by lies and torment.

But if we ever meet again, I’ll always remember till then…

There’s something about the way you touch my soul with yours.
